UniStem day 2024 at COS! March 19, 2024
Organized by Josy and her colleague Lazaro Centanin from COS, in collaboration with Marieke Essers from DKFZ, we warmly welcomed students interested in both advanced and basic biology courses to this year’s UniStem Day—the European Stem Cell Day. Gideon and Maria from the lab introduced the fascinating world of muscle stem cell research using Drosophila, while Josy shared insights into her career path and offered valuable advice to the next generation of stem cell researchers. After a nourishing lunch, the students delved into hands-on experiments, gaining real-life experience in muscle stem cell research.

A wonderful evening at Karlstorbahnhof with insights into Wnt signaling and its role in aging and tumorigenesis! July 18, 2022
Josy gave a talk about our work on the question “How does the Wnt signaling pathway control neighboring stem cell populations in a specific cell type-dependent manner?” at the lecture series Überlebenstrategien, a joint project of the life sciences Collaborative Research Centers at Heidelberg University and Rhein-Neckar Fernsehen (RNF). Afterwards, she and other speakers Michael Boutros, Thomas Holstein and Florian Leuschner answered questions from the audience and the moderator Micha Hörnle. Press release of Heidelberg University.
The Bageritz lab was visited by the AG Bionik of the Studeninstiftung des deutsches Volkes April 26, 2022
In April 2022, Linnea Hesse, the head of the AG, and 18 students visited our lab to get to know more about our research and microscopes at the institute.
